I love the outdoors and have spent many a weekend out in the bush, always having a camera by my side. I've taken so many photos that just end up taking up space on my hard drive and hardly get a second glance. That is why I've decided to start a blog. It not only forces me to sort back through all my photos but allows me to re-live some great memories and share with you some of my nature experiences.
A few years ago I came across a new website called Project Noah. An interactive website that allows you to add your nature photos and document wildlife. Suddenly my photo of a 'bird' was given an identity - common and scientific names were added, maps were tagged and I was spending hours researching different wildlife on the internet. I was learning so much and meeting so many extraordinary photographers and passionate nature lovers!
I started looking at the world differently - trying to find animals, birds and bugs wherever I went. My camera was no longer for weekend trips only! I started seeking out new places to walk to increase my chances of seeing something new, then a slight obsession began...
Lists.
I like making and ticking off lists. I bought a Birds of Australia book and tick off the birds I photograph. Now I want to be able to tick them all! So hence, another reason for this blog - a place to categorize my photos.
Now I just have to figure out how to put it all into this blog!
