Swan Lake #2, Phillip Island - Feb 2012

A few months later I headed back to the wetlands to see what else I could find. It was a wet morning and wasn't long before I came across this gorgeous little wallaby.

Swamp wallaby, Wallabia bicolor
A curious currawong wanted to check me out as I passed him on the boardwalk.

Grey currawong, Strepera versicolor

It was too cold and wet for the snakes this time!
The stormy clouds made for some interesting light as these two geese emerged from behind the hill.

Cape barren goose, Cereopsis novaehollandiae

Purple swamphen, Porphyrio porphyrio
Masked lapwing, Vanellus miles novaehollandiae

The wings on this Ibis had a wonderful multicoloured, irridescent sheen to them.
Straw-necked ibis, Threskiornis spinicollis

Little pied cormorant, Phalacrocorax melanoleucos

Willie wagtail, Rhipidura leucophrys

Silvereye or Wax-eye, Zosterops lateralis

It turned out to be a pretty successful walk, despite the miserable weather.
